Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, under the supervision of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, and under the title: Technology Achievements and Sustainability, the activities of the Graduation Projects Competition Festival for the final stages (fifth edition) for the academic year 2023-2024 were concluded, in the presence of a large number of department heads and university teachers. And the participating students.
The Oil and Gas Engineering Department project ranked fifth among the total departments of the University of Technology.
The name of the participating department’s project is “Study the Inter Facial Tension Alteration for East Baghdad Crude Oil by Using Nano Surfactant Materials” by students Amna Ali Mahmoud, Saja Amer Jaber, and Amir Bashir Karim, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ramzi Sayhoud Hameed.
The students participating in the festival were honored by the University President, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, with certificates of appreciation. All the teachers supervising the projects were also honoured. Congratulations to our department, our dear students, and to the supervisor, Prof. Dr. Ramzi Sayhoud Hameed, for this achievement, and, God willing, more success and excellence.

The Department of Oil and Gas Engineering held a general assembly for faculty members headed by Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kazem, Head of the Department, Scientific Assistant Prof. Dr. Najm Abdel Kadhim Al-Rubaie, and Head of the Branch, Prof. Imad Abdel Hussein Fakher, and hosted by the Committee of Experts, on Thursday, 9/ 5/2024 and at Akaz Hall.
The body’s meeting included discussing the creation of a new scientific branch in the department, discussing the schedule of final exams for the academic year 2023-2024 in light of the instructions of the Bologna process, and preparing the necessary requirements for the exams, including preparing exam halls, observers, and model questions and answers.

The head of the department, Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kazem, inspected the final exams/second semester/first round for students for the academic year 2023-2024, which began on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

The department head reviewed the necessary supplies for the students and praised the efforts of the examination committee, teachers, and all associates in creating the appropriate atmosphere for the students.

 

The University of Technology/Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance held a special workshop on applying for engineering program accreditation in scientific departments, delivered by Prof. Dr. Jalal Muhammad Jalil, on Monday, 5/13/2024, in the hall of the Computer Engineering Department, in the presence of the scientific assistant, Prof. Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan and the administrative assistant, Prof. Dr. Farhad Othman Muhammad, department heads, scientific assistants, and heads of all branches. Participated from the department were Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kazem, head of the department, scientific assistant Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul Kadhim Al-Rubaie, head of the branch/head of the Engineering Program Accreditation Committee, Prof. Imad Abdel Hussein. The university presidency praised the remarkable progress achieved by the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering as it is the most prepared to apply for engineering program accreditation at the present time. After the end of the workshop, the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan, the scientific assistant, Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul Kadhim Al-Rubaie, and the head of the branch, A.M., met. Dr. Imad Abdel Hussein Fakher and the teaching representative. M. Dr.. Ahmed Abdullah Ramadan to discuss the next steps that the department will take in order to submit the final application for engineering program accreditation.
